Connect an AI assistant (MCP)

The Quiet Metrics MCP server lets your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code) read your statistics to answer your questions, without being able to change anything.

Before you start

  • Plans: the MCP server is included in the Pro and Agency plans, the beta and the trial.
  • Team members: a member only gets access if the account owner turns it on for them, from the Members page.
  • Read only: the assistant reads aggregated results (key metrics, curves, rankings, visitors online, pages not found). It sees no individual visit and changes nothing. With filters, any figure computed from fewer than 5 visitors (or, in a ranking, any row below 5) is hidden, to limit the risk of singling out a visit.
  • Your data: measurement data stays hosted in France. The results the assistant asks for are sent to that assistant's provider, under the agreement you have with them.

Server address

https://quietmetrics.dev/mcp

You connect with your Quiet Metrics account: the assistant opens the sign-in page, then an authorisation page listing the sites it will be able to read. Check the return address shown on that page: the application name is declared by the application itself.

claude.ai and Claude Desktop

In the settings, open Connectors, add a custom connector, paste the server address, then click Connect.

ChatGPT

Turn on developer mode in the apps and connectors settings, create a connector with the server address and OAuth authentication, then sign in.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http quiet-metrics https://quietmetrics.dev/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Authenticate.

Cursor

Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "quiet-metrics": { "url": "https://quietmetrics.dev/mcp" }
  }
}

VS Code

Add to .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "servers": {
    "quiet-metrics": { "type": "http", "url": "https://quietmetrics.dev/mcp" }
  }
}

What the assistant can ask

Tool Answer
list-sites your sites, across all accounts, with their visitors over 7 days and the change from the previous week
get-summary the key metrics of a period, compared with the previous period
get-timeseries the daily curve, or hourly for a single day
get-breakdown a ranking: pages, entry pages, exit pages, referring sites, channels, UTM source, medium and campaign, countries, regions, browsers, operating systems, devices, languages, events
get-realtime the number of visitors online over the last 5 minutes
get-not-found-pages the pages not found (404) reported most often

Periods follow each site's timezone, and every answer states the period actually read; only list-sites counts its 7 days in server time. An impossible period (future date, range too long) is refused rather than replaced.

Every answer also lists the changes in how Quiet Metrics counts that happened during the period read, such as a tightened bot filter: a drop on that day comes from the filter, not from your audience, and the assistant is told to say so. Likewise, get-not-found-pages says whether your site sends its 404 errors: if it does not, an empty list means "not measured", not "no broken page".

Removing access

From the Connected apps page of your account, Revoke cuts the assistant's access immediately. An account owner can also remove a member's MCP access from the Members page.
